Our School

Our Vision and Values

At John Bunyan Primary School and Nursery, our vision is:

“Our school is a place where kindness leads, resilience grows and every learner is inspired to achieve their full potential with purpose and pride.”

This vision guides everything we do, from teaching and learning to relationships and the wider life of the school. We believe that children achieve their very best when they are safe, respected, supported, and inspired.

Our Core Values

Our four school values — PRIDE, ACHIEVEMENT, RESILIENCE and KINDNESS — are central to daily life at John Bunyan. They are intentionally woven into our curriculum, our Code of Conduct, and the way we engage with pupils, parents, staff, and the wider community. Children are encouraged to talk about our values, understand what they mean, and apply them in school and beyond.

Our Code of Conduct

  • Show PRIDE – in yourself, your work, and your school.
  • ACHIEVE – by trying your best and celebrating success.
  • Be RESILIENT – keep going, even when things are challenging.
  • Be KIND – to yourself, to others, and to our community.

Embedding British Values

At John Bunyan, British Values are promoted alongside our school values through teaching, pupil voice, curriculum activities, and the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of all pupils.

How This Looks in Practice

  • Curriculum & Learning: Lessons, assemblies, and projects embed values and British Values through discussion, collaboration, and reflection.
  • Pupil Voice: Children are encouraged to share opinions, contribute to decision-making, and support their peers and school community.
  • School Ethos: Our Code of Conduct and values ensure that children practise kindness, respect, pride, achievement, and resilience in everything they do.

At John Bunyan, we are proud to create a school where children are safe, inspired, and empowered, growing into responsible, caring individuals who live out our vision with purpose and pride.
