🌾 Celebrating Harvest: Kindness and Generosity Across Our School 🍂
This week, we have been celebrating Harvest across our school, taking time to reflect on what Harvest means, why we celebrate it, and the importance of being thankful for the food we have.
Through our learning, the children have explored how Harvest is a time to give thanks for the food grown and gathered, while also recognising that not everyone in our community has access to the food they need. We have talked about how even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference to others.
As part of our Harvest celebrations, both KS1 and KS2 were fortunate to welcome Sarah from Braintree Foodbank into their assemblies. Sarah explained the important work the foodbank does, why it is needed, and the vital role it plays in supporting individuals and families within our local community. Her visit helped the children develop a greater understanding of how foodbanks support those who may be experiencing difficult times and how our donations can make a real difference.
We have been truly touched by the kindness and generosity shown by our school community through donations to Braintree Foodbank. These contributions will help support people and families in our local area, reminding us all the importance of coming together to help those who may need a little extra support.
A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful families for their generous donations and continued support. Your kindness has helped us bring the true meaning of Harvest to life for our children, showing them the value of compassion, gratitude and looking after one another. π₯«π
We are incredibly proud of our school community for demonstrating such wonderful values and showing that, together, we really can make a difference.
A special thank you to Sarah and everyone at Braintree Foodbank for the important work they do to support our local community.
Happy Harvest from us all! πΎπ
