This week, our Year 1 children represented the school brilliantly as we travelled to Colchester to explore the castle. The children were excited seeing the castle as we arrived, already talking with one another about the features they could see. When stepping inside, the children embarked on a day of curiosity and exploring. 

We had hands-on experiences when thinking about the jobs in the castle, dressed and acted as knights and discovered facts both upstairs and downstairs in the castle. We all particularly enjoyed pretending to fire arrows through the arrow slits, galloping around the castle grounds and acting out an attack on the castle! 

The children were complimented by the staff on how engaged they were and their manners. We are very proud; coming back after a day of exploring, asking questions and strengthening our castle knowledge.
