In Reception this term we have been continuing our learning through play. The children are developing their independence and confidence to try out their own ideas and problem solve independently. 

We are learning about the world around us, expressing our thoughts and ideas through art, role play and investigation. We are also having fun practising our physical skills using a range of equipment and games. 

On Thursday 10^th June, Elders took part in the Middle School sports day completing 6 different events. This included a long distance run, a 80m sprint, long jumps, speed bounce, javelin and chest push. Different points were scored for achieving different distances and times. In our class both Keeley and Ivan scored the highest points in the whole of Middle School. Well done Elders for your determination and great sportsmanship.

The teachers were lucky last week to have a coach from Essex Cricket Club come in to teach us some different cricket games - watch out for them in PE!

Poplars class were lucky enough to have their gold-leaf shields chosen to be displayed at the National Gallery as part of the ‘Take One Picture’ project. Mrs Hooper, Mrs Bennett and Miss Stiff attended the opening of the exhibition and were so impressed by all the projects from schools around the UK. How fantastic to see John Bunyan school as part of this special project!
