EYFS, KS1 and Larches class had the pleasure of watching 'The Tiny Magic Orchestra'

Through music and actions they took us on a journey to the mountain, the cave, the sea, in space and back down to planet Earth.

The children learnt about an orchestra and watched Charly, Sarah and Tom play the clarinet, ukulele, flute and harp.

Everyone was in awe of the performance and enjoyed joining in too.

We would like to thank 'The Tiny Magic Orchestra' for joining us.

  • Egyptian Day!

    Published 14/03/25, by Juniper Education

Junipers and Rowans classes had a fantastic Egyptian Day this week immersing themselves in the ancient past. The children travelled back to the time of Pharaoh Akhenaten where they were tasked with helping to prepare the new temple for the Pharaoh. Throughout the morning, the children learnt the skills needed to prepare bodies for the afterlife. They learnt how to make mummies, protection amulets, write their names using hieroglyphics, create tomb art, make bread, make model slaves and more! In the afternoon, the children put on a feast to welcome the Pharaoh to his new temple. The children put on performances of ancient stories including the story of the gods Osiris and Isis and the wax crocodile fable. Throughout the day they even caught temple thieves, stopped a murder plot against the Pharaoh and told the future with a storytelling bull. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the past and developing their knowledge and skills.

Nursery were exceedingly lucky to have Tony from Braintree Library come and visit them. He brought in Book Start packs for each child and then read two stories for them. The Gruffalo was definitely a popular choice! Tony mentioned that Braintree Library are encouraging more and more people to come in and spend some time there, they have a lot going on and it can be a fun place to visit. It's not the 'quiet place' that it used to be!
